I was wondering what's going on with the Medico filters,I always get a carton from WV Smokeshop when I order tobacco.I'm guessing this new carton I opened was purchased last fall after opening up 1 of the small box's I noticed they changed, there is no writing the texture is different and they don't hold up as well as the old ones did,did I get a bad box or did they change?

Nope still made in New York. We had the switch to a generic, unprinted heart sealable cellophane in June 2014 as a cost saving measure.  The current cellophane is about 1/4th the price of the printed stuff.  It is more of a matte finish as opposed to the shiny printed cellophane.  When you say doesn't hold up as well, what do you mean?

The guts on a few so far have unraveled in my pipe, seems I'm changing more often as well, and I have to crimp the end a little to get them in the pipe stem, maybe I just got a bad box,I'll keep going through the carton and see how the rest hold up.

Bill, thanks for keeping them American-made. I notice the filters in the Missouri Meerschaum cops they are selling these days have no printing on them anymore. Are they still Medicos? Dave
